Sony has indicated that the Android 4.0 update for its Xperia devices a few weeks it will be before. The first updates were late March / early April to go out the door, now it is mid april become. The first phones that will receive an update, the Xperia Arc S , the Xperia Neo V and the Xperia Ray . The rollout of the update will be about four to six weeks to complete. Then comes the second big drop in late May / early June. The Sony Xperia S will only get Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich after June 2012.
From late May / early June, the Xperia Arc , Xperia PLAY , Neo Xperia , Xperia Mini , Mini Pro Xperia , Xperia Pro, Xperia Active and Sony Ericsson Walkman Live with an update expected. Sony chooses not to update via the air spread. Also, users get email notifications when an update is available. Sony wants users slam a conscious choice to upgrade to Ice Cream Sandwich and therefore they must be so hard to do and what their device wired to connect their computer.
Sony already has a beta version of Ice Cream Sandwich for the Xperia PLAY released. This, however, is only suitable for developers. Thus, using Wi-Fi is not possible and the support for Google services turned off. You also need to unlock the bootloader ROM to run, making it impossible to install the official update as it becomes available.
