PowerTrekk: Charging iPhone with hydrogen # CES2012


On fuel cells often take it seriously. Promises plenty, but where are the products? Simple, you can use them just buy from Amazon and they are not even expensive. The problem is that you still need to purchase ink cartridges, the fuel cell to use. PowerTrekk makes it easier: This is a new type of fuel cell manufacturer myFC where you only need some water.








The PowerTrekk can be viewed at CES 2012 in Las Vegas. The idea is simple: you walk around in the woods on vacation and your iPhone is low. Fortunately, you come to a babbling brook. Handy! While enjoying a short break, you can recharge your iPhone right away. At least that's the scenario that myFC, the Swedish company behind the mirrors PowerTrekk us. The green color of the device should make clear that this is an eco-friendly solution. There are two USB ports on the thing, which you can charge two devices. Hydrogen gas is converted into electricity, which only some gas yields as a byproduct. In the green cover is a rechargeable battery so you can also use regular PowerTrekk spare battery. The solution is still pricey: $ 299 for the device and another $ 12 for a pack of three PowerPukks. But you will not need to spend more money and makes the device an "infinite" amount of energy ... as long as you have water handy.
