Facebook, the location service Gowalla, Foursquare's biggest competitor, bought, according to CNN . An official statement from both parties have come out.
Gowalla acquisition by Facebook
According to sources from CNN moves most of the staff, including founder Josh Williams of Austin, Texas to the headquarters of Facebook in Palo Alto, California. The reason of the acquisition is to develop additional features for Facebook timeline. What features exactly mean or what new features are coming is not known. CNN on the acquisition of Gowalla by Facebook:
